Woman dies after man shoots her multiple times during verbal altercation in Lancaster, police say

LANCASTER, S.C. — The Lancaster County Police Department arrested a man after he shot and killed a woman in Lancaster Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said Curtis Townsend shot Takeisha Massey multiple times during an argument.

Shortly after, he tossed the gun and hid in an outside trash can, according to authorities.

Police located him quickly and took him into custody.

According to the Lancaster County Police Department, Takeisha Massey was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but died shortly after arriving.

Police are still investigating the shooting.
