Before you head out to buy your next phone or tablet, knowing which provider has the fastest mobile network in Charlotte might come in handy.
Each year, PCMag hits the road to test eight 3G and 4G networks in 21 U.S. cities, and one of their stops is in Charlotte.
PCMag found that all of the "4G" networks performed well in Charlotte in file downloading. The magazine said AT&T, Sprint 4G, T-Mobile and Verizon 4G were all relatively reliable, at least compared to to other cities.
This is good news for mobile users in the Queen City, as residents have a good selection of 4G networks to choose from.
But, PCMag found Verizon's new 4G LTE network delivered the best overall speeds in Charlotte, with an average download speeds topping 12Mbps, which is faster than most home Internet connections. T-Mobile came in second place, AT&T was third followed by Sprint 4G.
PCMag found the fastest spot in Charlotte to be just east of Midtown where it saw 31Mbps on Verizon's network.
