CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Plaza Midwood’s annual Midwood Maynia festival will be held the first weekend of May, in and around Midwood Park.
The event features a home and garden tour, a 5K race, live music, a pet parade and more.
The weekend will kick off with the Candlelight Home and Garden tour from 6 - 8 p.m. on May 4. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the event. For a list of places to purchase tickets, click here.
The home and garden tour will continue on May 5, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The annual Midwood Miles 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. May 5 in Midwood Park. A children’s fun run will meet at the finish line in Midwood Park after the 5K, at around 9:15 a.m.
At 10 a.m., the Midwood Maynia Pet Parade will make its way through the neighborhood. Parade participants should gather outside Kilgo Methodist Church at 9:30 a.m. There is no registration fee for the parade.
Kidswood, which features kid-oriented activities like art projects and dancing, will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Midwood Park. A scavenger hunt is planned for 12:30 p.m. in the community garden.
From noon until 7 p.m., there will be food, live music and a variety of activities in Midwood Park.
