Reports: NC State Basketball Coach Sidney Lowe Resigns

RALEIGH, N.C.,None — ESPN is reporting that North Carolina State head basketball coach Sidney Lowe has resigned.

In a text message to ESPN.com senior reporter Andy Katz, Lowe said "I'm resigning."

Multiple media outlets reported that Lowe met with NC State Athletic Director Debbie Yow on Tuesday.

Lowe compiled an 86-78 record in five seasons with the Wolfpack, including a 25-55 record in the ACC.

Lowe has previously coached the Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA.

Lowe was the point guard on NC State's 1983 NCAA national championship team coached by Jim Valvano. He was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 1983 NBA draft.

He played a total of four seasons in the NBA on five different teams.
