3 dead after shooting at Michigan courthouse

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — A sheriff says two bailiffs and a gunman were killed at a western Berrien County, Mich., courthouse where a shooting happened Monday afternoon.

The Berrien County Sheriff confirmed that two bailiffs and a suspect were killed. According to WSBT, another bailiff was shot in the arm and finger.

The suspect was an inmate and was being moved at western Michigan courthouse when he disarmed officer, shot, killed 2 bailiffs.

The injured deputy was in stable condition at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

A Berrien County Commissioner, who was not identified by name, told WBND the gunman grabbed a deputy's weapon and opened fire as he was being transported to jail.
