More than 1.2 million people tuned in Sunday for the unmasking of “Dream,” an online gamer who has accrued more than 40 million YouTube subscribers to his Minecraft content, Rolling Stone reported.

“My name is Clay, maybe you’ve heard of me, maybe not,” he posted in a Sunday night YouTube video, adding, “Maybe you clicked on this video out of pure curiosity and you don’t care who I am.”

According to CNN, the face reveal – which occurred about one-and-a-half minutes into a five-minute video – amassed 16 million views in fewer than 12 hours.

The Minecraft guru explained that he’s packing away his signature smiley-face mask because his best friend, George, is flying out for their first ever face-to-face meeting after knowing each other since they were 11. He also shared that he has been “bunkered up” and wanted to “start doing things” in public, such as meeting fellow content creators, Rolling Stone reported.

According to CNN. “Dream” has been an internet presence since 2014, best known for his Minecraft prowess and intermittent cheating scandals.

He ended the reveal by encouraging fans to follow his lead: “This channel is living proof that anyone can do anything.”
