According to WMBF and WPDE, Brandon Coakley, 32, agreed to a plea deal Monday in the 2018 sexual assault of a 6-year-old. He received a life sentence for first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child, as well as three years on a domestic violence charge, the news outlets reported.

Georgetown police first learned of the incident in November 2018, when the child’s mother discovered a recording on Coakley’s phone that showed him sexually assaulting the 6-year-old, according to WPDE. Coakley then assaulted the woman when she told him what she had found, authorities said.

The mother took her children with her as she fled the home with Coakley’s phone and reported the incident to police, WMBF and WPDE reported. Investigators later tracked him down and arrested him, according to the news outlets.
