cheap oil change

Spring break is coming! Bust out the sunscreen, pack the cooler with ice, and get your new bathing suit ordered – it’s time to hit the beach, the trails, the pool, whatever you have in mind for your glorious week off. Tons of people hit the road for spring break road trips this time of year, and if you’re one of them then you need to be prepped and ready. Who wants to waste their vacation with car trouble? Toyota of N Charlotte is here with a spring break road trip checklist to get you out on the highway, stress-free!

Don’t start your road trip without running through this checklist!

Item 1: Check your car’s tires.

If you're hitting the highway for a road trip, your car's tires need to be in the best shape possible. They need to be free of any damage or weaknesses (like punctures, bubbles, blisters, or sidewall separation) and should be properly inflated to the correct PSI for safety and fuel efficiency. You should also have our Charlotte Toyota service center check your tread depth to ensure you can get the traction you need.

Item 2: Schedule an oil change.
Been putting off that oil change? Don’t leave it until after your road trip – your car needs a full tank of clean oil to handle highway miles. It’s going to be working hard to maintain high speeds over long distances, and engine oil is what keeps the engine cool and lubricated. Make an appointment at Toyota of N Charlotte before you head out.
Item 3: Top of all other fluids.
While you’re getting your oil changed, have our auto service techs check all of the other fluids in your car. You’ll want to make sure you’re good to go on wiper fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, and brake fluid before you get out of town. If anything is dirty, get it flushed. If it’s low, top it off.
Item 4: Inspect your car’s battery.
A dead battery can put a real damper on a road trip. Before you leave, have our Charlotte auto service techs check your battery over. They’ll look for any physical issues (like swelling, rust, leaks, etc.) and can also check the voltage to make sure you don’t need a replacement anytime soon.
Item 5: Don’t neglect your headlights and wipers.
We’re praying for straight sunshine during your getaway, but you should make sure your wipers are in good shape just in case and replace the blades if necessary. Additionally, make sure all headlights and taillights work and are shining brightly before you hit the highway for your spring break vacation.
