Each year the Charlotte Police Department holds an auction for unclaimed items at the City of Charlotte Asset Recovery located on Wilkinson Boulevard. Auction items up for bid can range from lost-and-found items that have been unclaimed to former pieces of evidence from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Property and Evidence Management Division.

Examples of auction items include computers, power tools, TVs and jewelry. While the items up for bidding change from one auction to another, a list of exact items is released three weeks before each auction.
