- Weather alerts remain in effect as the heat wave continues across the Charlotte area for a few more days.
- Highs will reach the mid to upper 90s Friday and Saturday, with heat index values climbing into the triple digits each afternoon.
- A few isolated storms will pop up, mainly north and west of Charlotte. Increasing storm chances are a sign the heat wave is beginning to break down.
- Relief arrives Sunday, just in time for Around the Crown, with cooler temperatures expected.
