CLAREMONT, N.C. — A mother and son were found dead Wednesday night at a home in Claremont, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 9.
Deputies responded to a home on Dover Street just before 10:30 p.m. after a report of a shooting involving two individuals.
The sheriff’s office says the deputies found a man and a woman dead after being shot.
The two were house-sitting at another family member’s home in the Woodland Oaks neighborhood, deputies said.
Evidence at the scene indicates the shooting was an isolated domestic incident, authorities said Thursday.
The victims haven’t been identified yet.
The sheriff’s office hasn’t said who the suspected shooter was.
