FORECAST: Little relief in sight as Charlotte heat wave stretches into next week

FORECAST:

  • A heat advisory is in effect for Charlotte as dangerous heat grips the area, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s and heat index values reaching around 105 degrees.
  • Little to no rain is expected to provide meaningful relief through Saturday, allowing the oppressive heat to persist.
  • A few more thunderstorms could develop Sunday, but the overall pattern remains hot, with the extreme heat expected to continue into next week.
  • Residents should take precautions during the hottest parts of the day and stay hydrated while limiting time outdoors.
