CHARLOTTE — ABOVE: The latest forecast update from Severe Weather Center 9. To stay on top of changing weather conditions, be sure to download our free WSOC-TV weather app.
- A gorgeous stretch of weather is ahead for the Charlotte area, with sunny skies, milder afternoons and no rain in the forecast for the next seven to 10 days.
- After another very chilly start Monday morning, temperatures will rebound to near 70 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies.
- Highs will remain in the 70s for the rest of the week, while morning lows dip into the 40s. The cool starts and comfortable afternoons will make for a classic fall weather pattern across the region.
- An area of low pressure off the North Carolina coast is expected to churn offshore throughout the week, but it is not expected to affect Charlotte’s weather.
- There is a chance the system could become strong enough to receive a name. However, the storm is expected to remain offshore and move out to sea.
- While the system is not expected to bring rain to the Charlotte area, coastal communities could see dangerous surf and an increased risk of beach erosion.
- For now, the Charlotte forecast remains quiet, with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures expected to continue.
We are flipping the numbers this week. We were near a record again last Friday at 86°, but today's high will just be 68°. pic.twitter.com/uvDJNPQVvg
