Help children with life-threatening conditions be A Kid Again

For children with life-threatening conditions, the simple surprises and delight of life are eclipsed by visits to doctors’ offices, stays in the hospital, medical tests and treatments.

Nonprofit organization A Kid Again offers children with life-threatening conditions a chance to experience a day without doctors’ appointments and procedures.

A Kid Again is specifically designed to involve the entire family (not just the child who is ill) to improve the well-being of everyone affected by the situation.

Families who participate in A Kid Again give back as much as they receive by connecting with each other and sharing their own stories of strength and encouragement.

Year-round fun-filled adventures allow children with life-threatening conditions to feel like A Kid Again, and its program establishes ongoing, nurturing experiences that complement but do not overtake their day-to-day living.

A Kid Again has served nearly 400,000 children and families and recently opened its Central Carolinas Chapter.

To raise funds for the local program, Yandrick and Alane Paraison, are launching The Paraison Invitational.

The charity golf tournament was formed with the common vision of celebrating unity, diversity and most importantly, family.

The Paraison Invitational provides a unique and fun experience for family and friends to unite in support of a great cause.

“Our belief in family, friends, and our community at large is what inspires us to always give back and never give up,” Yandrick Paraison said.

A Kid Again Central Carolinas makes life normal again for families caring for a child with a life-threatening condition by helping them gain back moments of positive, family-shared experiences and memories.

“At A Kid Again, our mission is to provide hope, happiness and healing to families raising a child with a life-threatening condition,” said Ed Paat, executive director of A Kid Again - Central Carolinas.

The inaugural Paraison Invitational is scheduled for Aug. 7 at the Emerald Lake Golf Club, 9750 Tournament Drive, Matthews, NC.
