Local teacher surprised with announcement she’s been named school’s teacher of the year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — We all remember that one teacher who was so special to us. But when teachers themselves choose the best of their best, you know it’s pretty remarkable.

Robyn Hobson is a fourth grade math teacher at Statesville Road Elementary School in north Charlotte.

Her fellow teachers selected her as the school’s teacher of the year.

Hobson will now compete against other teachers in the Central 1 Learning Community before someone is named Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teacher of the year.
