Feed the Children to deliver truckload of food, personal care items to Charlotte

On Nov. 19 at Northside Baptist Church, Feed the Children along with Concord Hospitality will deliver a truckload of food and personal care items to help 400 families in the Charlotte area.
Feed the Children asked Northside Baptist Church and community partners to be their hands and feet on the ground for the distribution.
As part of a pilot program, WSOC-TV and several nonprofit organizations including Leading on Opportunity, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Northside Baptist Church and Charlotte Works convened to continue the community conversation about the affordable housing crisis and how the collaboration can support families and children within A Child’s Place.  A Child’s Place works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education.
This single-stop collaboration service is meant to bring the wide-array of services presented by the nonprofits directly to the families being served.  The hope is that this pilot program can be mimicked throughout the Carolinas.
Feed the Children will deliver 400 boxes of nonperishable food items, 400 boxes of personal care items and other food items for distribution.
For a majority of those who will visit, this will be a drive up, receive their items and drive off operation.
Right now, Crisis Assistance Ministry, A Child’s Place and Northside Baptist Church are identifying the 400 families in need.
