One person died after an overnight one-car accident on Back Creek Church Road in the University area.
Police said three people were in the car when it struck a utility pole and then crashed into a ditch.
Emergency officials said one person died, one person was flown by medical helicopter and the other person was transported by ambulance to Carolinas Medical Center.
Officials have not yet released the conditions of the crash victims.
Police had closed Back Creek Church Road for several hours as they investigated the accident.
The road is now back open.
