Action 9 asks Cadillac to consider another recall after drivers blame fire on electric seat heaters

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A major car company is taking action after an action 9 investigation.

Last week, Action 9’s Jason Stoogenke reported on three drivers who said their Cadillacs caught on fire and blamed it on electric seat heaters.

As soon as Stoogenke started investigating, Cadillac contacted at least one of the three drivers, Mercedes Guevara, who said the company inspected her car.

Cadillac has a report, but won’t tell her what it found.

"I do hope that they can resolve it, and not just for us, but for many others who own the same exact type of vehicle within a certain amount of years,” said Jaime Guevara, Mercedes’ husband.

Stoogenke first exposed this issue last year.

Cadillac issued a recall for certain cars a few months later.

Now, Stoogenke is asking Cadillac to consider another recall.
