CHARLESTON, S.C. — A large crowd gathered in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, this weekend to honor the nine parishioners who were shot and killed inside Emanuel AME Church three years ago.
June 17 marked the three-year anniversary since nine people were gunned down during a Bible study.
A weeklong memorial service called "Rally for Unity" wrapped up this weekend.

Hundreds of people called for action against all types of violence across the country.
"With the racial divide and the political turmoil and things like that, it really does ensure you that there is allies and people are with you fighting for the same thing you're fighting for,” participant Malachi Jones said.
A moment of silence was held for the nine lives lost, during which doves were released.
