Victim identified in fatal south Charlotte train crash

CHARLOTTE — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Norfolk Southern train in south Charlotte Friday night.

CMPD officers responded to a call involving a train versus a pedestrian in the 5700 block of Old Pineville Road around 7:44 p.m.

When they arrived, officers found Amber McGee, 37, unresponsive. MEDIC pronounced her deceased on the scene.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
