Person inside house killed, 2 others hurt when SUV crashes through wall

CHARLOTTE — One person died and two others were hurt Monday night after an SUV crashed into an east Charlotte home, CMPD said.

The SUV, with two people inside, was traveling along Cello Court when it left the road and smashed into the house, police said.

One person inside the house was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two others inside the home were taken to a hospital.

No names have been released.

The home suffered major damage and the Charlotte Fire Department worked for hours to make sure it was structurally safe.

Police have not said if anyone will be facing charges in the crash and no further information has been released.
