STATESVILLE, N.C. — Two people face multiple felony and misdemeanor drug and weapons charges following a Thursday traffic stop on Buffalo Shoals Road in Statesville, according to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell.
A lieutenant pulled over a vehicle driven by Tadarren Lashaud Mosley, 26, with passenger Dejah Marie Joyner, 29. While speaking with the occupants, the lieutenant observed illegal contraband in plain view inside the car, the sheriff said.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located two concealed handguns along with several types of illegal drugs and controlled substances. Authorities seized cocaine, heroin, hydrocodone pills, alprazolam pills and marijuana.
Deputies transported Mosley and Joyner to the Iredell County Detention Center, where they appeared before Magistrate Johnson. Both face multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses related to possession of illegal drugs, a concealed handgun and drug paraphernalia.
Magistrate Johnson ordered Mosley held without bond because he was already out on bond for a previous charge. Johnson issued Joyner a $50,000 secured bond.
