CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It was an emotional moment for two soon-to-be Charlotte-Mecklenburg graduates when they found out they will be going to college debt free since they were chosen as a recipient of the Jordan Brand Wings Scholars Program.
The initiative provided scholarships and resources to committed, primarily first-generation students to help reduce barriers to higher education.
“I’m very thankful. It’s a stress off me, it’s a stress off my mom,” one of the students said. “This is a great opportunity for me to achieve my dreams.”
