HICKORY, N.C. — Two men wearing ski mask carrying guns robbed the Boost Mobile store Wednesday night on Highway 70 SE, police said.
Nearby Catawba Valley Community College was placed under lockdown as a precaution because of the robbery in the area, college officials said.

This was the second Boost Mobile robbery Wednesday in Hickory, but police can’t say if they were connected.
At 10:30 a.m., an armed robbery happened at the store at 2501 Springs Road NE.
