HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Two people were hurt, including one with serious injuries, after a crash on Interstate 77 in Huntersville Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The Huntersville Fire Department said they responded to the wreck near Exit 23 in the northbound lanes around 1 p.m.

According to the fire department, one person was flown to a hospital in Charlotte with serious injuries. Another victim was taken to a hospital in Huntersville but is expected to be OK.
Authorities have not said what led to the crash.
Huntersville Fire said the interstate was temporarily shut down so a helicopter could land to fly one of the victims to the hospital. Officials said drivers should expect heavy traffic delays.
