Gaston County Police Department

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — The Gaston County Police Department is investigating a breaking and entering case in Bessemer City.

It occurred on Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 at a business on the 1400 block of Bessemer City Kings Mountain Highway.

Police said the suspects, who arrived on foot from the woods behind the business, disabled the building’s power by removing the outer electrical box meter before stealing copper wiring from the electrical system.

They were able to enter the building by cutting a hole that allowed one suspect to open the door for the other. They left the scene on foot in the same direction they arrived, according to police.

Police said both suspects were wearing dark clothing, including hoods and gloves. One of the suspects is believed to be a woman.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact Officer P. Blake with the Gaston County Police Department at 704-866-3320 or Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
