LAKE NORMAN, N.C. — Half a dozen Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers will swim the length of Lake Norman Wednesday to raise money for children of fellow officers killed in the line of duty.
The 34-mile long “Honor Swim” is part of police week.
The funds will go toward college tuition for officers Sean Clark’s and Fred Thornton's children.
The swim is expected to take around 24 hours to finish.
Channel 9 will bring you coverage of the officer's swim on Eyewitness News at 5 p.m.
