CHARLOTTE — The 2026 Charlotte 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will take place Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Bank of America Corporate Center in uptown Charlotte.
The event honors the 343 FDNY firefighters who died while responding to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Participants climb the equivalent of 110 stories of the World Trade Center as a tribute to a fallen firefighter.
Proceeds from the stair climb support National Fallen Firefighters Foundation programs for families of fallen firefighters and the FDNY Counseling Service Unit.
The event is open to the community, and climbers must be at least 13 years old.
Event details:
- Location: Bank of America Corporate Center, 100 N. Tryon St.
- On-site registration: 7 a.m.
- Opening ceremony: 8 a.m.
- Climb begins: 8:45 a.m.
- Registration deadline: Midnight Thursday
Participants who are not wearing turnout or bunker gear must wear the provided race number. Tools, SCBA air packs, and flags are not permitted during the climb.
