CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A car flew into the side of a building in south Charlotte Saturday morning near Rea Road and Ardrey Kell.
The driver, who may have had a medical emergency, had two kids in the car.
The children are OK, but Eyewitness News was told that the driver has life-threatening injuries.
The building she hit is actually set back quite a ways. She came off of the road and ended up hitting a barrier. The back of the woman's GMC Acadia went into a ditch and then ended up against the building, breaking a window.
Firefighters had to cut the driver out.
A witness said she helped three other men get those children out of the vehicle.
She said the kids had cuts and scrapes, but were otherwise fine.
"I just got out of the doctor's office, and I saw a car flying through the grass. And as soon as I came around the corner I saw that she was on her side. When I got here, there were three other gentlemen that were trying to help her get out of the car," said witness Kylie Spagnolini.
