Airport valet driver charged with stealing customer's gun

A search warrant obtained by Channel 9 reveals a valet driver at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport sold a gun that he stole from a customer's SUV.

Police arrested and charged Harry Williams in the case.

The warrant states officers questioned Williams after surveillance video last Friday showed him parking the customer's SUV. During the interview Tuesday morning, the officer asked Williams if he gave the gun to someone already.

Williams said yes.

Later in the the interview, the officer asked Williams for how much.

Williams said $200.

The warrant shows Williams was able to get the gun back and give it to the officers.

This is not the first time Channel 9 has covered problems at Charlotte-Douglas' valet area.

In 2014, airport valet workers were accused of joyriding and stealing guns from cars. Ameripark has since taken over the service.
