CHARLOTTE — Amélie’s French Bakery & Cafe is expanding its portfolio with a focus on artisan gourmet breads.

The popular bakery says it has snagged a 7,000-square-foot space at 1511 Central Avenue -- formerly home to Nova’s Bakery -- for that venture.

Expect that production facility to supply artisan breads to Amélie’s locations in NoDa, Park Road, Carmel Commons and Rock Hill.

“This has been a longtime passion project for us at Amélie’s,” says CEO Frank Reed. “It has been a dream of ours to have our own production facility.”
