SOUTH CAROLINA — South Carolina’s U.S. Senate race is now set, with Republican Sen. Darline Graham facing Democratic pediatrician Annie Andrews in November.

Channel 9 spoke with Andrews Wednesday about Graham’s primary victory. Andrews is encouraging supporters of former Republican challenger Ralph Norman to take a look at her campaign.

Andrews said she wants to work across party lines to address issues including rising prices, prescription drug costs and a proposed ban on congressional stock trading.

“In me, you will get a fighter,” Andrews said. “In me, you will get an intelligent, hardworking person who will work across the aisle to address the very real problems that we’re facing in South Carolina.”

Graham has made affordability and pocketbook issues a top priority of her campaign. After her victory Tuesday night, she called Andrews the most radical candidate Democrats have ever nominated in South Carolina.

Andrews said she would not work on behalf of any president or political party, but instead for South Carolina voters.
