CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte developer Crescent Communities will begin work next year on another local multifamily project, this time in the area commonly referred to as Lower South End.

Crescent confirmed Wednesday that it expects to build about 340 apartments and "complementary" retail space as part of the LoSo Station development that Charlotte real estate firm Beacon Partners is leading, near the Lynx Blue Line Scaleybark Station. Pre-submittal documents for Novel LoSo were filed with the city for part of a 15-acre greenfield site that fronts South Boulevard and the Scaleybark Station.
Crescent is under contract to purchase land within the development for Novel LoSo. The firm expects to begin construction in early 2020, with the first units likely delivering in the second half of 2021.
"We look forward to working alongside Beacon Partners to turn the long-standing vision for a walkable and transit-oriented mixed-use community serving the Lower South End neighborhood a reality," Crescent said in a statement.
