Batch House dishing up sweet treats at new home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Batch House opened the doors to its new home on Saturday.

It’s a bittersweet moment for owner Cristina Rojas-Agurcia — known as The Batchmaker. The bakery survived Covid 19, as well as a devastating flood that destroyed its first location in Wesley Heights.

“I didn’t give up,” she says. “It feels surreal to finally just have a space that caters to us.”

The new Batch House occupies 1,435 square feet at 901 Berryhill Road. That’s part of the Station West adaptive-reuse project, which brings office, retail and events space to the west side.

“I think a lot of people are looking forward to it,” she says. “I’m excited to see everyone.”
