CHARLOTTE — Black on the Block, a touring marketplace for Black-owned businesses, takes place on Sunday at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte.
The event is presented in partnership with Live Nation Urban and features more than 100 Black-owned businesses, brands, food vendors, music, and interactive activations.
The event is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will cost $20 at the door, while children under 12 are free.
Sisters Lanie and Char Edwards founded Black on the Block as a national platform connecting Black-owned businesses directly with consumers. In 2025, the touring marketplace generated more than $4 million in total shopper spending for the Black-owned businesses involved in its events.
The Charlotte gathering marks the marketplace’s official debut in the city. The venue gives entrepreneurs space to showcase and sell their products to Charlotte community members.
Co-founders Lanie and Char Edwards are attending the event to highlight the small-business owners bringing their merchandise and food options to Bojangles Coliseum.
