Blair Miller to sign off from WSOC-TV for last time Friday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Blair Miller has been at WSOC-TV for 13 years, covering the Carolinas and beyond.

Blair has covered stories that touched our hearts and broke our hearts.

He has interviewed countless politicians, governors and presidential contenders, often getting exclusives, including interviews with Pat McCrory, John Edwards, Mitt Romney and Kay Hagan.

He's covered every big thing that has happened in Charlotte since 2002, including the Democratic National Convention, countless snowstorms, the search for Zahra Baker, the deaths of Salisbury firefighters Vic Isler and Justin Monroe and the deaths of CMPD officers Jeff Shelton and Sean Clark.

Through it all, Blair has tried to make a difference, to help people in the community and to make it a better community. He has hosted numerous charity events and has been an avid supporter of the Humane Society of Charlotte and Hospice of Charlotte.

Blair also serves on the board of the nonprofit Rescue Ranch in Statesville. He has also actively participated in WSOC-TV's collections for School Tools, Steve's Coats for Kids and the Summer Food Drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank.

Blair will be missed at Channel 9. Boston is getting not just a great journalist, but a great person.
