CHARLOTTE — Two people have been displaced and a dog was killed during a house fire in northwest Charlotte.
According to the Charlotte Fire Department, around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, firefighters responded to a structure fire on Gambia Street, just off Freedom Drive.
The department controlled the fire in 10 minutes.
Fire investigators determined the cause was an accidental kitchen fire and found a dog dead in the home. CFD estimates the fire caused $60,000 worth of damage.
