Changes to CATS routes, LYNX Blue Line take effect on Monday

CHARLOTTE — Changes to Charlotte Area Transit System routes will take effect on Monday.

CATS will modify select bus routes to improve on-time performance, they said in a release. Route 10 – West Boulevard and Route 290 – Davidson Shuttle, will see minor structural changes. The LYNX Blue Line will increase to 15-mintue frequency between trains during peak morning and evening hours on weekdays.

The routes below will be adjusted.

• 24 – Nations Ford Road

• 56 – Arrowood

• 40x – Lawyers Road Express

• 46x – Harrisburg Road Express

• 77x – North Mecklenburg Express

• 82x – Rock Hill Express

Route 10 will be modified to provide service to the Central Piedmont Community College – Harris Campus. Service along Leake Street and Nobles Avenue will be discontinued, according to CATS. Riders who normally board at these bus stops can use the bus stops along New Renaissance Way or West Boulevard as an alternative.

Services to the airport cargo center and along Cedar Street will be discontinued.

Route 290 will be shifted slightly in hopes of improving operating conditions for larger vehicles on the route. . Service along Main Street (south of Concord Road), Jackson Street, Depot Street and Watson Street will be discontinued. Riders that used those services can now use stops along Griffith Street or Main Street (north of Concord Road) instead.

Weekday freuenecy along the LYNX Blue Line will increase every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
