FORT MILL, S.C. — Police in Fort Mill have identified and charged a suspect in a murder from three years ago.
Eric Neal Patton is charged in the shooting death of LaCharles Dontae Govan. Police said Govan was found dead outside Jerusalem Baptist Church along Steele Street on June 4, 2015.
Arrest warrants were obtained for Patton on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Patton was transferred from Perry Correctional Institution in Pelzer, South Carolina to the Fort Mill Police Department Friday. He was denied bond and taken to the York County Detention Center, where he’ll stay until the prosecution phase of the case.
