Charlotte Fire uses QR codes to connect with citizens

The Charlotte Fire Department recently added QR or quick response codes to their field communication cars, the communication center said.

Citizens can learn about the communications division and its rescue units by scanning the image with a QR reader on their cellphones.

The Charlotte Fire Department website offers this description of the communication division:

The Charlotte Fire Department Communications Division does more than answer vitally important calls that come into the 911 center. Its members also provide communications support in the field, whether it's needed at a City of Charlotte festival, a natural disaster on the North Carolina coast, or during a missing-persons search in the mountains.
