CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Regional Farmers Market celebrated Watermelon Day on Sunday.
The celebration took place along Yorkmont Road in west Charlotte.
It is officially watermelon season in the Carolinas, so the market had a few different varieties.
Organizers say the ongoing drought is not stopping the watermelon harvest, but it is slowing things down by about two weeks.
