Charlotte’s role in HomeTrust merger includes, HR, facilities work

HomeTrust Bank (Melissa Key/CBJ)

CHARLOTTE — HomeTrust Bancshares’ Charlotte customers won’t see much change from the Blue Ridge deal, though its ability to compete for bigger loans will.

HomeTrust Chief Financial Officer Tony VunCannon said the merger will not bring new jobs or offices to Charlotte in the near term. The Asheville-based bank employs 65 people in the Charlotte market.

“I don’t see it having a huge effect on the Charlotte office,” VunCannon said. “We’re still committed to Charlotte and growing the business there.”
