Cidery, duckpin bowling latest in downtown Kannapolis remake

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Tipsy Hare Ciderworks and Kingpin Bowling have joined the lineup in Kannapolis, as efforts continue to revitalize its downtown.

Both of those ventures in the 200 block of West Avenue are in their soft-opening phase. A grand opening is scheduled for Jan. 22, says Kyle Lingafelt.

He and Stefan Perrine have invested roughly $450,000 into those concepts. The veterans are also behind Old Armor Beer Co., a military-themed brewery, which opened in February 2020 at 211 West Ave. It connects to Tipsy Hare via a hallway.

“We wanted to make the space where it’s a whole compound of things to do,” Lingafelt says. “Every time we add something it’s just another added benefit to the downtown.”

Downtown Kannapolis has seen a flurry of investment and development in recent years, with additional projects now underway or in the works.
