CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (ACC) is facing an emergency capacity situation, with only one open dog kennel remaining at the shelter.
Thankfully, on Saturday, the annual Clear the Shelters Adoption Event will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main shelter on 8315 Byrum Drive in Charlotte.
During the event adoption fees will be waived for all animals with a donation to support shelters programs, giving families an opportunity to welcome a new pet while helping those still in the shelter.
Clear the Shelters will also feature a festival atmosphere in the shelter parking lot, featuring 12 vendors and several food trucks.
ACC encourages families and the community to come out, meet the animals, and help the shelter create urgently needed kennel space.
