CMPD partners with local church, food bank to give out food to families in need

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Many of our neighbors in Charlotte are still struggling to keep food on the table, and they have relied on the kindness of people they have never met.

Wednesday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is partnering with Hickory Grove Baptist Church and Second Harvest to give out food while supplies last.

There is still a huge need for food and the last time CMPD did a food giveaway with Hickory Grove Baptist Church, cars wrapped around the parking lot. They handed out meat, produce and baked goods to families in need.

Free groceries will be available starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday at 802 Tom Hunter Road.
