The suspect is a man believed to be between 30 and 45 years old. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall with an average build.
Detectives gathered surveillance footage in this ongoing investigation.
Neighbors, including Ammu Mery, said they will take extra precautions until the suspect is caught.
“I always go with my husband, so I never face anything unusual,” Mery said.
Resident Rosie Chinchay said its unusual that a serious crime took place near her home so she’s not taking any chances.
“I guess (it’s about) staying alert and vigilant about what’s around you,” she said.
The earlier sunset keeps Chinchay on alert during her nighttime routine.
“It gets darker now, sooner, so go out a little bit earlier, walking my pups,” Chinchay said.
Chinchay said she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary during her walks over the weekend.
“Very surprised,” she said. “Especially because I didn’t know of the incident.”
Another sexual attack was reported over the weekend in the Queen City.
Octavis Wayne Deandra Wilson, 29, is accused of beating and raping a woman walking home along Tuckaseegee Road on Friday night. Wilson was arrested.
