CMPD: Woman punched, pulled from SUV at south Charlotte McDonald's

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for a man who they said attacked a woman and stole her SUV while she sat inside the vehicle at a McDonald’s in south Charlotte.

According to a police report, the woman was violently carjacked around 9 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald’s restaurant in the Quail Corners Shopping Center on Park Road.

She told officers that a man she did not know, who was armed with a knife, punched her and pulled her out of her tan 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe before speeding off in the SUV.

“When I opened my purse, I heard someone say something in English,” Yesica Aguilar said in Spanish.

Aguilar said her wallet, cash and iPhone were in the Tahoe when it was stolen.

“I couldn't be sure if it was a knife,” she said.

Police found her car about five blocks away.

She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

No suspect description has yet been released.
