WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — The Wake County Health Department said a person who attended the Millennium Tour 2020 concert at PNC Arena in Raleigh on March 13 has tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual was symptomatic while attending the event. and had floor seats in Section 5, but moved throughout the crowd, officials said.

A Rock Hill woman said she went to the concert in Raleigh and now wishes she didn’t go.

Anitra Montgomery said she went to the concert with two of her sisters to see artists like Bow Wow, Ashanti and The Ying Yang Twins.

She said they were not that worried about the coronavirus advisories despite Gov. Roy Cooper’s recommendation that events with more than 100 people to be canceled.

They also couldn’t get their money back, which was $150 for each floor seat.

Now, she is staying home and waiting to see if she needs to get tested after another attendee tested positive for the coronavirus.

“I feel like if you had the symptoms already, you should’ve done the right thing and stayed at home, because now, by that one individual going in and out of the crowd, not only did they have it, but they put others at risk,” Montgomery said.

Channel 9 contacted the promoters, G-Squared Events, but have not heard back.

If you went to the show and spent time on the floor, you may be at risk for exposure, according to the Wake County Health Department, “because the crowd was so mobile, it would be very difficult determine who came within six feet of the affected person for 10 minutes or more."

The Wake County Public Health Division has set up a special information line for people who attended the show or worked at PNC Arena on March 13. Affected Wake County residents can call 919-857-9375.

Concerts, sports and major events were already being canceled when the promoter decided to go ahead with the Millennium Tour as scheduled. The promoter made the decision to cancel the day before the show.
