Neighbors concerned for safety after deadly stabbing in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. — Concord police spent hours at the scene of a deadly stabbing on Monday night.

Police are not searching for a suspect at the current time.

Officers were called to Heatherwood Court just after 4 p.m.

They found the body of a person who had been stabbed at least once.

They said the alleged killer and the victim knew each other.

Police told Channel 9 they were initially called to the scene for an assault, but when they arrived they found the victim dead.

Neighbors said that even though no one is on the loose, they're still frightened by the violence.

Eyewitness News spoke with one woman who helped police by translating for a witness of that deadly stabbing.

"She's not OK. She's really scared. I don't think she's going to sleep well," said Maria Skolink.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim because they have not been able to notify the family.
