CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte mother of three thought she had the worst flu of her life, but instead, she was one of the first people in Mecklenburg County to test positive for COVID-19.
An interesting part of @GenevieveWSOC9’s story— the Charlotte mom says contact tracers were able to determine her source of exposure. She says it was at a church event. She didn’t speak or touch the man but he was singing behind her https://t.co/G4LZJhJhH2

Now that she has recovered, she has a new focus -- helping others.
“To think that I could actually help somebody who is fighting for their life and potentially make them turn the corner and make them get better,” Brandi Rabon said.
In the video at the top of this page, Rabon talks about donating plasma to help others who are fighting the virus.
